Single moms have the jobs of managing their kids and work, and sometimes buying a house can be an extra barrier to take care of. College grants for single mothers are not the only type of grants available for single mothers. For this very purpose, there are many federal government grants for housing so single moms can still go and get an adequate house. These grants are very helpful in the fact that they provide housing grants for single moms to needy single women.

For housing, single mothers should also consider mortgage grants for single mothers. these are great grants that help single moms that are having trouble paying off their existing debts. You can also check out grants.gov for more information on mortgage grants for single mothers.

Housing is a tough subject for single moms. Usually it can be hard to afford. However, that is why these housing grants for single moms are set up – to provide help and comfort to single moms.

For Low Income families, the federal government also provides lots of help to families who are paying a lot out of their own pockets for housing. It is true that lots of financial setbacks are also due to housing. This is because of all the extra costs that are associated with a house such as the insurance, mortgage and other monthly repairs. This is mostly for people whose annual household income is 50% or less than the average income of the residents of the area they are living in. People who meet that condition get help from PHAs – Public Housing agencies, in the form of vouchers.

There is a set amount as to how much money they get, and the single women gets to choose which house she wants to live in. She has to pay the remaining of the rent of the house or apartment that is not covered by the voucher.

There are many Public Housing Assistance agencies locally and you should be able to find one closed to you that you can contact. These agencies are well equipped because even the government gives them funding. If this sounds like something that you can benefit from, call a PHA agency today and see how they may be able to help you.

Another organization that may be of help to you is the HIP program – homeless imitative program & Housing improvement program. These organizations are very helpful in helpful single mothers. You should check out their websites and see if what they are offering is of any use of to you. These agencies have many types of programs that they offer.

There is also another one – The HOME program which offers home loans and other things with some specific guidelines. There is a long application, but it is a worth it hassle in the end.
Also talk to mortgage companies, even if you do or don’t fall into the criteria of low income. If yo can prove that you are in somewhat of a good financial position and will pay back the money they lend to you, they will loan you some money so you can start your housing venture.

Contact these agencies and ask them questions about how they will be able to help you out. These agencies are very helpful and make use of them!

It is also helpful to ask anyone you know who can be helpful and provide some insight as to what you should do. You should ask mortgage lenders, realtors, and even financial consultants. They will help you study some angles that you haven’t looked at and help you make some good decisions about housing.

There have been many scams in the housing market, and yet, there is another one to be wary of. In this scam, scammers are advertising homes they don’t even own for rent.

Many of these scams can be filed as “too good to be true”. The scammers are taking empty or foreclosed properties and are putting them on sale. They advertise the house as very cheap, maybe only $850, a month. Here’s the catch: they ask for a deposit before they supposedly hand you a key.

Ever since the housing market crash and all the unemployment flood, these options do seem quite good, and which is why many people are falling into the trap.

Here are the ways in which the scammers pose their deal:

The scammers find a house or property that has been listed for foreclosure that is sold my a real agent.

First they post an ad on websites like craigslist or the like to attract people to their offer. They usually change up the listing and say that it is for rents instead of for sale.

The person interested in the house emails the scammer and says that they are interested

The scammer responds by asking for a deposit before they can send over the keys, but the renter never receives the keys.

You may possibly be in for a can if you notice any of these:

- The person you are buying from does not let you see inside the property or says they cannot give you a tour

- The price is “too good to be true” and way below the market value

- The person interested is asked to wire the money to somewhere overseas

- The communication seems a little edgy

- There are for sale signs on the property instead of for rent

How to outsmart the smart scammers:

- Ask the seller to meet you at the house for a tour

- Give them the money in persona and ask for the keys right away

- Talk to them over the phone to get a sense of the legitimacy

- Talk to real estate companies about the house

So to avoid these numerous scams in the housing market, be smart. Make sure you are checking out every detail before you make such a big investment.

The government doesn’t necessarily give out money for free or to everyone, but there are certain times where you might get some financial aid in the form of a financial aid grant for single mothers.

What is a grant?

Grants are like money that can be used towards a certain thing – like housing or maybe college. This money does not need to be repaid back to the government, it is yours to keep and use towards something that you need. These help single moms in getting the funding that they might need for something that they might have thought was otherwise impossible!

There are many single mother grants everywhere; you just need to find them in the right place. These single mother grants can be very helpful and they make day to day purchases simple. And the best part about grants is that they do not have to be repaid. They are yours to keep and put into good use. That is something that makes them very resourceful.
However, many people run into the question, where to apply for a grant. There are many government agencies and many private companies that offer grants. However, it is important to sift out the scam offers from the real genuine ones. There are many grants that are actually scams, so make sure that they are not offering something “to good to be true”. To really check if the financial aid grants for single mothers are legitimate, try contacting them by calling them or checking out their website.
Here are some good websites and government companies to check out that also offer great grant help.

1. Grants.gov
2. Fafsa.ed.gov – very helpful for student grants
3. Studentaid.ed.gov – Also helpful for finding student aid grants for school

If you need a housing grant to either pay for a house or apartment, there is also a great organization called the department of housing and urban development (HUD). This can really help single mothers what the need for the necessity for home. There are also many housing vouchers that should also be checked out if you wish to buy a house.
There are also things called pell grants that you can apply for if you are interested in continuing your education. It is given to single moms that wish to go back to college and get a higher education. One company, the FSEOG(Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant) is perfect for single mothers ready to continue their dream! This is a highly recommended type of scholarship and I would highly recommend it.

Single moms are also eligible for college and school grants. Many of the grants are set aside for no traditional students. These also have some eligibility requirements, like financial standings or ethnicity. Check the websites for all these different grants regularly because often times they add new grants or edit their existing ones. Financial aid Grants for single mothers are very helpful and there are many that you should try to apply for. There are many organizations that also give out a variety of grants.

Just be aware that they are many, many, many opportunities available to you. Don’t get discouraged and keep thriving to find the perfect grant that can work wonders for you family. Keep your goals in mind and surely you will find a grant that will help you reach the goals that you have strongly set for yourself and your family. Fish around and see what kinds of financial aid grants for single mothers you can find, you never know.

Why use grants?

Grants are very useful for anyone looking for a little bit of financial assistance. They can assist in many areas such as housing, school, and even business. The best part of grants is that they do not need to be repaid. If you earn them, they are yours to put into good use… Therefore, grants are very helpful and are worth it. Finding them can be a little hard because of all the competition. Make sure you find one that is perfect for your criteria and send in your application as soon as possible to ensure the best turnaround for the grant.

Applying is a really important aspect of school grants for single mothers. You need to make sure that you are applying and filling out the information correctly to ensure that you really do get a beneficial grant. If you fill out the application correctly, there is a much better chance that you will qualify for grants for single mothers.

First, find school grants for single mothers that you qualify for. You may have to search around. Remember to read the terms and conditions and make sure you fit the criteria. If you do not meet the criteria asked for by the grant, you may have no point applying for the grant. Also make sure the grant you are interested in is actually still available and is a valid offer.
There isn’t such a thing as a particular single mom grant, but there are many that single moms can also make use of. First try the FAFSA which determines how much of financial need you really need. Usually you get Pell grants from FAFSA and they can give $5,000 or more to really needy students looking to go back to school.

Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant is also a type of government grant in which you can get money yearly so that you can contribute some money to your education. You have a possibility of getting anywhere from $100- $4,000 yearly.

Little Info about Scams: There are many grants which have one sole purpose: to take advantage of the desperate. People who might think that it is a legitimate offer will go ahead and enter all of their personal information, and the scam owners will have your information. Something to look out for is that if the company asks you to pay before applying for the grant, often times it will not be legitimate. So just as a word of caution, make sure you know the website and read some of the reviews of the grants offered before you go in and start applying. If you are online a lot and see ads popping for single mom grants, make sure you check carefully before you submit any personal information to them. Usually these end up being scams. So if you are applying to some grants make sure you are careful in where you are applying.

The second step is to fill out the actual application. Sometimes there may be a quick write up that you may need to do or just maybe fill out some simple information about yourself. If you feel like writing the grant essay may be a little tough for you, there are many books you can refer to so you can write the winning essay. Make sure you are also looking at the deadline for the grants. Try to send in your application a little early to show dedication.
Next, you just have to send out the application and wait. Many times it can take up to weeks before you hear back. This is normal. Just make sure you send them out early. And just for maximum success rates, send out applications to lots of places.

Just follow the simple methods and try your best to craft a good application (and do not make anything up) and you should be well on your way to receiving a grant for single mothers, whether it be for education or housing.

How many credit cards do you have? If the tiny amounts due every month on your credit card debt is adding up to a substantial amount of your income every month, the single mom may be looking for ways to combine them all into one payment. She may be tempted by the offers to transfer the balances of other credit cards to a new, pre-approved line of credit that boasts lower terms and seems to be a good way to achieve debt consolidation. Before you rush in to take advantage of the limited time offer that seems to be a blessing, make sure you understand the terms of the credit card offer.

Some of the cards have fees associated with maintaining an account, transferring balances and even transaction fees. These can’t actually be called hidden fees, because they are all listed right there on the promotional information. Grab a magnifying glass and carefully read through all of the information that came with the credit card offer. Make sure that you understand that some of these fees may be waived for an initial time period, but will be charged to your credit card account once the introductory time limit has been reached. Don’t make your financial burden worse by adding additional debt as you try to consolidate.

The introductory time limit of the credit account also applies to the interest rate. If you will be able to pay off the entire card within the introductory time limit, the card may be a good idea. If you can’t pay it off entirely, make sure that you do the math and avoid digging yourself into a deeper hole by increasing your debt.

Never pay attention to the minimum payment required. Credit card debt will never be paid off if you only pay the minimum amount due. In some cases, your outstanding balance may go up even though you make regular and timely payments on the credit card account.

Don’t use the new line of credit to pay off a debt that charges a lower interest rate. It may seem obvious that it will only cost you more money in the long run because you are agreeing to pay more in interest to make your monthly bill paying tasks streamlined by one monthly payment. Even though you may be paying out less money from your family budget each month to meet your financial obligations, over the long term you are only growing your debt.

When the single mom has struggled for months or years trying to make her tight budget work, it’s often easy to feel relief when she finds that debt consolidation will leave her with extra money at the end of the month. Allowing monthly payments to be a consideration in financial planning is a mistake that many struggling families make. Always keep your eye on your over all debt burden to make sure that the careful planning you do doesn’t backfire and cause financial hardship down the road. There are many financial solutions for single moms that you can use for Debt Consolidation with Credit Cards.

Texas, the biggest state in the United States, has a lot to offer for single moms. There are many Texas grants for single mothers that are available to make living a bit easier. Making ends meet for single moms, can still be hard, but there are a numerous amount of grants that are set up for just this purpose.

The state of Texas is known for having many grants for single moms. There are many grant opportunities that single moms should definitely make use of. There are many helpful grants that are specific to the state of Texas itself. Education and paying for housing and such becomes a lot easier with the help of grants, and Texas grants for single mothers will help.

Many of the grants and scholarships are merit based. However there are some that are need based and financial based as well. Many of the grants are given out federally too.

Here are some grants that the government of Texas gives out to keep an eye out for:

TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy families) and TANF-UP Temporary Assistance for Needy Families — Unemployed Parents - This is a grant based on need and it has limits as to who can apply. This grant provides help for family members and those living with them. These are monthly cash payments that that help to cover the monthly recurring costs such as: rent, utilities, childcare, phone bills, furniture and other necessities. If you get approved for this grant, you will receive payments for 6 months and after 6 months; your payments may be renewed based on your needs.

Food Stamps and Medicaid – This grant is also based on a benefit period. The benefits last about 1 to 3 years. In that time period, people with low income are given food stamps to buy food for good healthcare.

There are many state programs that are offered for the residents of Texas.

One is the Texas Workforce Commission, which assists with job training and searches for jobs. You can contact the agency and they will help in finding a job that is matched up with your credentials and needs. The Labor Market and Career Information unit is also part of the Workforce Commission. They want to help Texans out with career and education and they help with making decisions about jobs and such.

Another government agency to help you out is the Department of Human services that also has many federal and state programs to help families out. They offer a variety of programs and their website is always updated to inform you about the programs available.

The children’s defense fund is another one to also check out. This is to help about children and their families. This is set up to really provide lots of good information about how to help children grow safely in their homes and grow to be strong youths.

There are just a handful of the many Texas grants for single mothers. There are many resources on the internet and you can contact many of the government agencies for more information and the specifics on how these grants for single moms work and what the application criteria is.

College is a very expensive and Scholarship Grants for Single Mothers can become very handy in such situations. A college education at a university can cost up to around 21,000 per year for a 4 year institution. That is a crazy number. Saving up this much for your or your child’s education is not at all manageable with all the other bills and other costs to cover. There are many other financial aids available for you to be able to be able to pay for your college education.

Yes, it can defiantly be intimidating. Dealing with this money can be very intimidating and scary so that you make the right decision. But here is the breakdown on how you should go about spending the money for your college degree:

1/3 should be borrowed from loans

1/3 should be from grants and scholarships that you have received or Scholarship grants for single mothers.

1/3 should be from your own pocket.

Now if you think about it, you only have to pay for 1/3 of the education and grants, scholarships and borrowed loans should make up the remainder of the college payment.

Another thing to consider is how much you expect to be making after one year of being out of school. If you expect to earn 80,000 a year, then spending 80,000 is totally understandable. Match how much you are paying for college with your earning potential. If you feel that community college may be better for you, that is also something to consider, Remember to plan this all out and also make sure that you are researching the school and doing all your prep work to ensure the right decision. After all, this is a lifelong decision.

Some websites to go to for this kind of research is Savingforcollege.com and Finaid.org and you will surely find some good information about the schools and Scholarship grants for single moms or financial aid. Do your planning and choose between subsidized and non subsidized loans so that you are not falling into what they call “bad debt”

There are also many grants for single mothers available to make paying for college more affordable.

When the budget is tight and it is becoming increasingly hard to make bill payments on time, the horrible thought that the single mom needs the assistance of credit counseling comes to light. Don’t let the idea be a negative thought. It doesn’t mean you are not a good mom or provider. It shows that you are responsible enough and intelligent enough to realize that you need to change direction before you are completely buried in overdue bills.

There is no shame in reaching out for credit counseling. It may be difficult to share private information with a stranger, but if it puts you on the right path to financial stability, a reputable advisor can mean the difference between credit recovery and credit disaster.

There are a lot of places to go to get credit counseling. Services are offered through many businesses and organizations. The prices vary from free to unreasonable, depending on how you choose. There is also another option that many single moms don’t think to explore that can empower them with the knowledge of getting their finances in order and making their budget workable at the same time that they are working to make the long term financial plan more stable.

Financial workshops, seminars and college classes are provided in many areas to help the single mom understand the basics of budgeting, credit debt and financial planning. If you live in a town that offers classes from a university, community college or tech school, you may have seen notices in the local newspaper about the availability of sessions in your area. If you did not realize that the educational forum could be of benefit to you, you probably just glanced at them and didn’t let the information register. But now that you know, start looking for the classes available to you.

Many of the sessions provided by educational institutions have a tuition fee. You may qualify for a reduced tuition or entrance fee if you meet certain residency or income guidelines. In some cases, your employer may pick up some of the fee if you are able to tie the education to your job. In many cases, the fees for workshops and seminars are minimal and easily affordable even if you have to pay for them yourself.

The short classes and workshops are not set up to teach you how to become an accountant or an economist. Don’t worry that the coursework will be too difficult. The goal is to give participants a basic understanding of household finances and how to plan to be successful in managing your money.

The single mom who likes to keep her financial matters private will appreciate the fact that attending classes, workshops and seminars will keep her from sharing her financial information with a stranger. She will also learn how to identify her past decisions that led to her present financial difficulties and not have to share this with anyone, but rather recognize it and take steps to remedy it.

Here are some great single mom authors to look out for!

Rachelle Fillingburg

Rachelle Fillingburg, a scholarship counselor at the University of Kansas, was raised by her mother alone. At a young age, Rachelle recognized the importance of her obtaining her own education and not relying on anyone else for financial support. At the early age of 16, she graduated high school and with a GPA of 3.9 and an ACT score of 33, she got a full ride to the University of Michigan. She majored in Business with a minor in Finance and graduated within 3 years with honors. Upon graduation, Fillingburg started working with a mortgage lender and continued to work with this company for 12 years.

Once she hit 35, something brought her back to working with single moms. She went to her reunion for high school and saw how many of her female class mates were single mothers who were without an education. From that moment on, she started dedicating her life to helping those find scholarships, especially single mothers. She has been a scholarship counselor for 6 years and currently writes articles for various websites. She has helped thousands of women, across the globe, find the scholarships they need to succeed for themselves and their families.

Gretchen Fairbow

Gretchen Fairbow was born to a fatherless family in the late 70’s. Her mother was determined to give her children a great life and decided to go back to school. Due to the outrageous expenses of school, her mother had to drop out and the family was left with next to nothing, financially. Fairbow decided then that she wanted to be different from her mother. She wanted to be motivated to get into the best school – and she wanted to make her family proud.

Upon graduation, she was offered a full ride to 5 Universities and was accepted to Harvard! She decided to go to Vanderbilt on a pretty great scholarship and majored in Finance. She met her husband, Miguel Hernandez, a month before graduation. Although he was an incredibly wealthy lawyer and there was no need for her to work, she decided to keep her dreams alive and work for a company that gives single moms a chance at education. She is currently writing articles for many websites and continues to inspire women each day.

Suchhaya Amroliwallah

Suchhaya Amroliwallah was born in India and moved to America at the early age of 6. Once she started attending grade school, she knew that she wanted to take advantage of the American opportunities that were available and go to college. She worked hard through school and upon her high school graduation; she shipped off the Yale University to study law.

After she had graduated from Yale, she started working in a mortgage law firm in San Diego. The big city made her realize how many women were uneducated due to lack of knowledge about scholarships. She immediately started dedicating her life to helping women find scholarships. Although she kept her job as a lawyer, she still writes about women’s scholarships every week. In addition, she attends any and all meetings regarding scholarships for women. Her story continues to inspire and motivate women, nationwide.

Single moms are constantly worried about their future and financials. The purpose of our site, SingleMomFinancialHelp.com, is to relieve single mothers of the stress and help them better manage their finances.
There are many single mother grants available; they just need to search for them in the right place. There are many varieties of financial grants for single mothers that are available from both the US government and other private organizations. These single mother grants are very helpful, and they make day to day purchases simple. And the best part about grants is that they do not have to be repaid. That makes them very beneficial. This website makes it easy to find the correct grant for you based on your situation. Hard working single moms can get grants for school, housing assistance for single moms, or even a small business.

A new feature we have just recently incorporated into our website is a section in which single moms can share their success stories and tell us how they manage their lives, finances, education, and children. This is designed to encourage other single moms and motivate them to keep going even as times get hard!

This website has everything a single mother may possibly need to know. The website is updated regularly, and offers many great tips and advice that may be helpful to single moms! This website is meant to be an online companion for single moms.

For many single moms, managing finances can be hard. There are numerous financial situations that a single mom must take care of: costs of school, day to day bills, childcare, housing, and transportation. With all this going on, managing all the financials is hard.

Our vision:
Single Mom Financial Help started in 2007, and has grown to include a network of sites to help single moms with the struggles and obstacles of daily life. These sites are set up to assist single moms with day-to-day things, such as raising children, choosing the right career, and getting the necessary education credentials, along with providing financial help. The goal is to help single moms increase the quality of their lives and make good decisions for their situations.

The network of sites even has a forum in which you can connect, ask questions, and interact with other single moms as well. They can share everyday experiences and ask questions, and most of all, talk to people that they can closely relate to! Single moms can give others encouraging words and support other moms as well! There is also a section on the website: single mom stories, in which single moms can post their story as motivation to other single moms and describe how they are successfully managing their life – and living it to the fullest!

The Single Mom Help Network also has a strong fan base on Facebook and Twitter too, so feel free to follow us, like us, and get connected to participate in and read our discussions.
