Single mom seeking financial help
I know it's probably a process to get the help, but I just want to know where to begin. I am 19 and my son is 17 months old and I live in Kansas. I am currently living with my parents and it would just be in all my family's best interest if I were to move out. So first of all I would like to move, but that is what I am having the most trouble finding how to get help on. I do have a couple of friends who have discussed living arrangements, but that isn't until April that I would be able to move in with them, do to lease reasons. If the benefits for me and my son are greater to just wait, I can wait, but I would still like to know how to get help with rent. I would also like assistance for daycare and college. I just want to know where to begin to look and what is the best possible route for me to take. Also if it helps to have more information, I work at a bar and get paid about $160 weekly.

The first place you should go is the Department for Human Services. If you're not sure where the closest one is, call your Health Department -- they can guide you in the right direction. Section 8 housing assistance, rent assistance, daycare, and other programs all start right there at DHS.
Good luck!

Re: Single mom seeking financial help
Yes that's right, there are actually grants that will help you in your financial constraints. I know that the government and some concerned groups have particular solutions that help single mothers start a better living. You should also begin researching or inquiring about this in your area.
