Most school districts do offer a GED program for those who don't have a high school diploma. These are usually free or there is a minimal fee.

The best place to start would be the local school district, followed by your local Job Service.

The place to avoid is a GED preparation course for those about to take the GED test. This would be a service you would be expected to pay for as these are people trying to earn a living. While there are some very good private centers out there, as always there are those few that give the rest a bad name.

    Hello leelynn30,

Welcome to the SingleMomFinancialHelp Forum, we are glad you have found us.

JTulo is correct in her advice about getting your GED. I would just like to add a couple of things. It is perfectly okay to get study guides for your GED test online, but you must take the test at an authorized GED testing facility for it to count. You cannot take the GED test online.

I hope that this information is helpful for you.

    Good luck with your GED!

    ~Sally~
