Stop collection agencies from calling?

How do I get collection agencies to stop calling daily? My home went into foreclosure and the debit was sold to a collections agency. I've read about "cease and desist" letters to send to the agency. Does this really work.... especially on a foreclosure?

The key is that this is actually a collection agency, and not the holder of the mortgage.One of the provisions of the FDCPA is that debt collectors MUST cease contacting you by phone if asked not to call. Cease and Desist letters are what you send to legally bind them to that provision.
