Default single mother with newborn on 3rd shift looking for advice?

I am currently 15 weeks along in my pregnancy. I am still struggling with the idea of the fact that I will be completely alone financially and having to support the child on my own. Once I have the baby I will have to go back to third shift. I don't know how I will be able to work 3rd shift, get child care, and get any sleep during the day while the baby will probably be awake.I am just looking for advice from single mothers with newborns, and especially if any of you work 3rd shift. Thank you.I need to stay at my current job to continue receiving health benefits and maternity leave. I don't have another option for a job.My job will send me back to third shift after my maternity leave...so I don't have the choice of 1st shift unless I can find another job.

Personally, with a newborn, I wouldn't work third shift. I want to work third shift now, only because my kids are older. I've worked that shift when my son was 6 months. When I got home, I just wanted to go to sleep. So even if you had childcare at that time, when u get off, you have to pick up your baby. I think you should consider first shift at this time. This way you can come home & take a nap. Childcare is cheaper throughout daytime hours. You won't be to tired to spend time with your baby, and your baby will sleep when u go to sleep for the evening. Think about it, it will work out better this way, I know.
