I stopped working when I got pregnant because of high risks pregnancy, I had complications that's why I gave birth prematurely. Until now I am having health problems and on medications and can't go back to work... I wish to have a small business at home (store where i can sell food etc.) in order to support my son and my medications but I dont have capitalization... pls. help me friends/single moms.
Thank you very much!

Hello Joanne,
Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, there is very little grant funding for small or woman owned businesses if they are for-profit. Your best bet would be to either speak with a bank about getting a loan or ask your friends and family for the money to get off the ground. The Small Business Administration's website has some information that may be helpful for you to review Financial Assistance. Your ability to receive a loan for your new business will be based on the business plan that you present, as well as your credit history, and the amount of equity that you can put up against the loan (your house).
As a side note, the FinancialHelpForSingleMoms.com website www.singlemomfinancialhelp.com Support Resources for Single Moms
has recommendations on ways for mothers to make money from home (without opening a store out of your home). This is a back up thought for you in case you have difficulty qualifying for a small business loan.
I hope that this information will help you.
