    Hello Hayvns mommy,

Welcome to the SingleMomFinancialHelp forum. We are glad that you are here.

Well since your boyfriend is the father of your child, he is obligated to pay child support. If you are unable to get this taken care of on your own, the Department of Health and Human Services has an Office of Child Support Enforcement that can assist you in the process for legally receiving child support: (www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cse/extinf.html) The Office of Child Support Enforcement State Links.

Now is a hard time to get a job, but just keep applying, and in the mean time try to pick up some extra hours at your current job. Potentially look for career advancement opportunities at the company where you are currently employed, as many companies like to promote form within, rather than hire outside of the company.

The department of Human Services may be able to assist you in signing up for section 8 housing, and other financial assistance that you may qualify for. They can be contacted by looking in the government section of your phone book, or by getting contact information from your Health Department.

    Good luck!

    ~Sally~
