    Default Hello!

I am a single mother of a VERY active three year old boy, and I am looking for an extremely structured, inexpensive preschool in my area. Is this impossible? I work full time, but I receive no help (financial or otherwise) from my child's father. In other words, money is limited. Any advice you can offer is much appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello and Welcome!
I am also a single mom to a 3 year old boy. When it was time for me to go back to work, which I also work full time, I went to my state website for a listing of a day cares that excepted financial aid from the state. The state sent me a list of all the day cares, and I was lucky enough to find a wonderful provider who has been doing it out of her home for 25 years and her rates were way cheaper then an actually day care site! Look around and go on lots of interviews, you'll find the one that is perfect for you and your little man! GOOD LUCK!

    Hello HRCheer,

Welcome to the SingleMomFinancialHelp Forum, we are happy that you found us.

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has a program that provides assistance with paying for child care and early educational programs, and there is also an Early Childhood Learning and Knowledge Center that has a Head Start Locator by city and state. You can do a little research on these sites.

I don't know much about your financial situation, you may want to contact your local Child Care Resource and Referral Agency to be advised about if you qualify for subsidized child care or free child care.

    Good luck!

    ~Sally~
