Hello, my name is Holly. I am a single mother of 3 beautiful children, my oldest daughter is 14, my son is 11 and I have a new baby girl that just turned 1 oh, and we live in Naples Fl.
I have come up with the best idea, I have it all worked out in my head but I really need to get some help finding the right avenue to make it happen.
I have been divorced for 10 yrs now; I have struggled financially the whole time. I am constantly losing jobs, at first it was because I had to pick my kids up from school at a certain time because I couldn't afford after school care and their father doesn't do much to help out. Then as they got older, it was because their father decided to get heavily into drugs and screw up a lot. Then he went to rehab and I couldn't afford ANYTHING on my own. Lost my job, my car and our home.
Now, my baby had some health issues that took a while to figure out and my employer didn't like the fact that I am her only parent and needed to take her to the dr every other week. We got it all figured out though THANK GOD!! Then, my 14 and 11 yr old lost their grandmother, my 14 yr old broke up with her first "real boyfriend" and with everything; she got really depressed and had thoughts of hurting herself... I told my work that I had to take off to take her to see a psychologist so they wouldn't take her somewhere for suicide watch.. They told me to find someone else to take her or consider myself unemployed. I lost my job Dec. 9th. My daughter is still in counseling.
The fabulous plan that I have come up with is this... I want to open my own bridal store!! I'm working on a business plan and doing my work, now I need to find some place to get a grant. I know there are millions offered, just not sure where to look. I have filled out tons of applications on line but they want tons of money to prepare your business plan and proposal then to submit it for the grants. Anyone have any idea where I go from here?
