Lost single mom
Just got let go at work and was thinking of going back to school to finish education for one more year. Can anyone tell me what kind of assistance I can get for that year of school? There's no way I can go to school full time like I need to & work a full time job. I understand I can qualify for single parent grants, but what about food, rent, etc? Please, anyone with info to help me out...I am way out of my element here & without a clue as to what I should/need to do. Thanks, mom73

Re: Lost single mom
Sorry to hear about your misfortune of being let go from work, seems like there is a lot of that going around these days. In this forum if you scroll down to the education section you can find some information about your questions. Another thing if you are thinking about returning to school look into online classes I found that they are the best, as a working mother.

Re: Lost single mom
My fiancee went back to school with a grant. He got his tuition paid for as well as travel mileage. If he had kids he would have gotten child care paid for as well. Just call area community colleges and see what they have to offer.

Re: Lost single mom
Grants can pay for tuition, but if you apply for other forms of financial aid like student loans, you can get help covering the costs of living while you're in school too.
