Default Did you and your children get H1N1 Flu shots?

I did get an H1N1 Flu shot and I got one for my daughter. We had no problems with the shot, but I was recently speaking with a close friend of mine, that listens to pod casts all of the time. He said that the H1N1 pandemonium was created by the U.S. government to make money. I explained that no one really makes any money, except the pharmaceutical company that produces the vaccine. He basically refused to get a shot and explained that he believed all of the hysteria to be fabricated.

What are your thoughts about the H1N1 Flu and the vaccine? Did you and your children receive vaccinations?

We didn't get flu shots. There has been a shortage in our area in recent weeks, and only high priority individuals are getting it right now...those with suppressed immune systems, the very young, the elderly, etc.

I'm not sure how I feel about the flu shot. Several years ago, my grandmother got her flu shot, and a week later she was in the hospital with -- you guessed it -- the flu. I know it was probably just a fluke, but ever since then, I'm wary of it.

I've heard several comments like the one you heard from your friend. Sometimes I will see news reports that point out how many people die of seasonal flu each year, and make it clear that this isn't any worse than that. Not yet, anyway. So I do wonder if the widespread fear of this thing is fueled by the media.

But then again, so many things are fueled by the media, so who knows?
