Let CPS come, then explain what he did by hitting you while you were holding your son. If you are really pissed at the situation, I would even call his parole officer and tell him/her that your dad assaulted you.

You need to get your own apartment asap. You will be inspected, but when they find out ur innocent, your dad will be in trouble. You need to tell them that your dad was beating your son because one spanking is enough, but multiple spankings could be considered child abuse. I'm not sure but this situation is out of control, you need to get far away from your dad. Make sure he dosn't know where you are because he may come after you.

Since you already know that your dad has a bad temper, I also suggest that you should live separately with your dad. If you know that you are really a good parent, you can take care of your son all by your self.

I hope by now you have taken the advice in this thread and moved out of that house. If you continue to stay there, CPS could take into account that your father hit your son...and you did nothing. In the eyes of CPS, that's just as bad as if you hit your son yourself. He's in an abusive household...and so are you...and you need to get out of there NOW.

Call your father's parole officer and report him for what he did. Depending upon the terms of his parole, he might land himself right back in jail for that hot temper of his. That might be the best thing for everyone involved.

One more thing...program 911 and other emergency numbers into your phone. If your father dares to come after you or your son, do not hesitate to call them. It doesn't matter if you are still living there and it's his house...he hits you or your son, that's assault, and the back of a squad car is the best place for him.
