    Default Credit collection laws

Most everyone knows that your lender will try to collect from you if you don't pay your bills. When they can't solve the debt problem themselves they usually hire a collection agency to recover the delinquent account. These collection agencies must stay within the compliance of the law. You as a debtor are protected by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). When an agency acts outside these guide lines they are subject to stiff fines, penalties and lawsuits.

Yes they should never treat you bad. It is there job to come after one, I understand that. But they have no right to make you feel like crap. They need to be understanding and realize that everyone gets in over their heads from time to time.

It really gets to be ridiculous the lengths that these people go to to try to get money from you. If people had the money to pay them, they would. It's not like single moms are hoarding a secret fortune under their floorboards and cackling away that they're not paying off their debts. Intimidation is never a good tactic when you want something from someone. Intimidation makes you like the mob instead of a legitimate business.

I truly believe that most people that work for a collection agency are untrained as far as the tactics that they can and can't use to get a person to pay their past due bills. If you are threatened by a bill collector try and get all the information that you can about them like where the office address is, the full name of the company and anything that might pertain to the call. Haven't you seen the commercial on TV about the credit card where the card holder makes a call and the call ends up in the Ukraine. Well, that is exactly how most of those collection agencies work. I had a friend a few years ago that received a call from an agency, or should I say her 10 year old daughter received the call and the caller threatened to call the neighbors and several other threats were made. When my friend found out she called the company and they told her not to worry about the bill any more that they would take care of seeing that the bill was paid in full and they sent her a paid in full invoice. That was because they knew that if she had of taken them to court because of the threats they would have a serious problem on their hands and would be sewed for major bucks. Don't let those collection agencies bully you.

Your lender should not act as if you are being brought to jail. Before anything else, entering to this credit thing should be understood very well. Everything within this contract should be brought into clear perceptive with you. All the consequences, advantages and disadvantage should also be discussed for you not to end like a fool when they try to trick you.
