One thing I've learned from watching people go through the education process, is that they spend so much money on things just to be able to go to school. For example, textbooks and supplies can cost just as much if not more than rent!! To save on supplies check for electronic editions of textbooks that are substantially cheaper. Also buy school supplies in the off season because they are much cheaper. See what you can get for free as well!

Aubre I agree with you, as parents we seem to spend a lot of money on our child’s school supplies. I have noticed the more children I have; the more frugal I am as to how much money I need to spend on school supplies. I have also found that many communities have programs that will help you with you child’s supplies.

I always buy things in the off season, You can always find good deals when you do this. I do this with everything not only school supplies I will do this with Clothes, spring decor, shoes you name it.

Buying during the off season for any product is your best bet unfortunately what it comes down to at times is that you have to budget your money and can’t always afford to do that. I saw a few stores now are offering back to school sales and at Kmart they brought back layaway! I was thrilled! I love layaway so check to see if any of the stores near you offer layaway!
